Anxiously awaiting the hummingbird migration. I have my feeders out, to help them on their voyage! In a week or two, I'll also put out my hummingbird helper nesting material, to help them with materials in hopes they find a nearby bush or tree to nest. There are a few websites that show the migration and you can report your sighting to them. We haven't seen any bluebirds in Southern Wisconsin as of the first week of April, hoping to see them soon as well.
It is a great time of year to clean out your bird feeders and replace any hummingbird feeders that have started to leak or are not bee and ant proof. If you need help finding the right hummingbird feeder, don't forget about our fantastic bee and wasp proof collection of Best-1 Hummingbird feeders. Click on Best-1 see them! We also stock the replacement parts for the hummingbird feeders.
It is also the time of year to put up habitat for the birds and wildlife, including bat houses, bluebird houses and bluebird feeders. Don't forget, if you want to attract more birds to your backyard, be sure to add water! It could be as fancy as a little, shallow pond, or just add one of our beautiful bird baths.
Many people only feed the birds in the winter months, while I usually feed the birds year round...why? Especially in the spring, you can catch migrating birds that you normally don't see. It provides you with the benefit of seeing one...and provides them with the needed nutrition to continue their flights!
Enjoy the outdoors!
