Hopper feeders generally hold a large capacity of seed, and will accomodate larger birds also. They usually accept a wide variety of mixed seeds.
Depending on how large they are, hopper feeders can be hung, pole or post mounted, or can be deck mounted. They hold a larger quantity of seed than tube feeders, so you don't have to fill them as often. They also hold a wide range of seed, like mixed seeds, or cracked corn or any kind of sunflower seed. Nearly any bird will come into a hopper feeder, I've had bluejays, cardinals, wrens, sparrows, finches and many other birds frequenting my feeder. If you have protective birds in the area, try putting out a few different feeders. If squirrels are bothering your feeder, be sure to look at our selection of challenging squirrel feeders, they will be sure to keep the squirrels busy while your birds are feeding.
