Decorative Oriole Feeder
|
Attracting Orioles can be fun...they migrate to the northern states roughly at the beginning of May. One of the problems you usually run into when feeding orioles is having ants and bees dining on the sweet nectar. The Perky Pet feeder shown here has ports that open determined by the weight on the perch, so it will open for an oriole, but not a bee or ant. Compliment the feeder with an ant moat to make sure the ants aren't bothing your orioles. We also carry fruit and jelly oriole feeders, manufactured by Looker Products and made with cedar. All of our Oriole feeders are made in the U.S.A.
To help attract orioles, use an orange colored feeder. Remember that they are a timid bird, so near a brush line would be a great place for the feeder, so they can have quick cover when needed. Orioles will start migrating north around the first of May.
