Dad's Clear Finished Bat House

This beautiful bat house is finished with a clear exterior finish to last for years.  This bat house is made with quality cedar on the front, top and sides and exterior grade plywood on the back.  It comes ready to hang.  We suggest hanging your bat house from a building at least 15 feet above the ground facing the south east, to catch the warmth of the morning sun.  You can also place the bat house on a pole or tree, but the occupation rate will decrease.  This bat house is large enough for nesting colonies with 3 chambers and measures 14" wide, 24" long and 6" deep. 

This bat house is finished correctly for the following states:  Texas, Southern California, Arizona and the southern tip of Nevada.  If you don't live in one of those states, please see our black finished bat house.  This bat house is quality made with nylon mesh interior for the bats maneuverability, galvanized staples and plated exterior screws.  Everything is also glued together to create a good draft-free environment for the bats.

Why are our bat houses better?

1. "Dad's" bat houses are all 100% glued, then sealed with a strong exterior grade caulk, so they are totally wind and water proof.
2. Our houses come ready to hang, they don't require you to paint or stain them.
3. Our houses are lined with nylon mesh, secured with stainless steel staples, so the mesh will stay put for years and years to come.
4. Look at the top of the house.  Ours does not have a screw hole in it.  We come from below with our screws, so the top is solid wood, more weather resistant than other bat houses.
5. Ours is bigger.  The cute little bat houses...well, they are just that, they are meant to look cute, not attract bats.  Our bat houses are built to the size recommended by the Organization for Bat Conservation and Bat Conservation International.  They WILL attract bats!
